Inspiration: ‘Power of Making’ Captures Curiosity

Adentity recently discovered some curious and certainly inventive masterpieces at the ‘Power of Making’ exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The exhibition illustrates how art and craft can break conventional creative boundaries and merge to create new ways of thinking, innovating and inventing. It offers plenty to feed the imagination and excite the senses. Among some of the 100 unique objects on show is a life-size newborn baby – made entirely from marzipan. If that doesn’t sound wacky enough, the high heeled shoe guitar (E-shoe) might tickle the brain. The exhibition, open until January 2012, encourages visitors to appreciate what goes into the process of making – not just the results. It’s all about taking materials, often everyday objects, and making them spectacular; exploring every avenue of innovation and invention.
