Inspiration: Living art, ‘Dying Dandy’

The masterpiece, ‘Dying Dandy’, is very much alive at the Moderna Museet in Malmö. Paying tribute to an artist that took the art world by storm during the early 20th Century, the famous painting by post-impressionist Nils Dardel is hauntingly beautiful.

When Adentity recently visited the contemporary art museum, the ‘Dying Dandy’ was first on the must-see list. Sold in 1984 for the highest price in history for a painting by a Swedish artist, it is one of over a hundred evocative works from the period 1900-1950. The work of art belongs to ‘Change of Scenes’ - the first in a new series of exhibitions that offers a major presentation of works spanning painting, sculpture, photography and film.

The current exhibition is the most comprehensive to date at the Malmö museum.
