Inspiration: Reebok and Nike think outside the shoebox



Packaging is a crucial part of the consumer’s experience with a product. And clever packaging can often help boost a brand’s image and create a more engaging brand experience with the consumer.

But how creative can a brand get with shoeboxes?

Sports apparel giant Reebok makes a strong statement for their climbing shoes by attaching them to the lid of their box, effectively communicating the message of ultimate grip.

Nike has taken the lid completely off and packaged their world famous Nike Air Max into, you guessed it, air. Not only does it create a powerful visual impact, the packaging is also more sustainable because less material is used.

You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but you can definitely judge a shoe by its box.
