Dove’s famous self-esteem campaign has been executed worldwide for
several years now. It is an extremely powerful campaign for the real beauty in
women, regardless of size, shape or colour.
The campaign tries to eliminate the stereotypical stick-thin image of
beauty and replaces it with true beauty – being yourself.
This time, Dove has shifted the target to younger children, citing the
fact that 6 out of 10 girls stop doing what they love because they feel
uncomfortable with their appearance. To help restore their self-confidence,
Dove created the Carbon Paper Ad.
To the sceptics, this might seem like an unscrupulous attempt to spread
Dove’s brand influence to an even younger audience. But to many others, the
message is not only effective, but inspiring. They’re not blatantly selling a
product and a false promise, they’re just reminding women to be who they want to
be.
If Dove salutes women, we salute Dove.
