Loads
have been going on in the world of design and advertising in 2013. Our team has
picked out what we think are 5 interesting trends this year in terms of logo
design, typography, web and ad design.
#1 “Here” – The iconic map pin
We’ve all seen this pin on
online maps and apps. Some brands have cleverly incorporated this iconic symbol
into their logos, so whoever sees them would look no further.
#2 The
missing link
Less is more. And minimalism in logos and typography has been a sure
trend in the recent years. Now, it has been taken one step further –
reductionism.
#3 Clever and minimal
Keeping it simple is sometimes not enough. Designs we’ve seen this year
come with a blend of clever imagery, basic shapes, and solid colours.
#4 Illustration is the new inspiration
Here’s some good news for illustrators. Instead of stock photography,
more advertisers are turning to illustrations to give their designs a burst of
energy, fun and a human touch.
#5 Old is gold – Going retro
Faded colours, sepia tones, old school fonts. There’s something
nostalgic, yet really trendy about retro-style designs. Apparently, it connotes
heritage and experience as well.
